My track record amply demonstrates that I only go to doctors if something is really wrong, or if they're pretty darn convenient. As a result, I need a new dentist now that I work on the South Side instead of Shadyside.

There's a dentist next to the Giant Eagle where I sometimes pick up lunch (mmm, salad bar), so today I walked in and asked if they take my dental plan. They do, so I picked up a card and put it in my pocket.

When I got back to the office I noticed that after the usual info they had a line in fairly large print that says "We cater to cowards".

I think these guys are going to be my kind of dentists. :-)

my dentists have almost the same tagline, though I can't quite remember it now :)

I had bad experiences with dentists as a child. these people almost make me not *mind* going. :)

I actually haven't had bad dentist experiences, really, and my teeth are in pretty good shape. (Nothing pretty to look at, but they work fine.) But I had a bad *needle* experience (regular doctor -- well, nurse or PA, actually -- rather than a dentist) when I was a small child, so the idea of them sticking needles in my mouth to numb things to do a filling kind of squicks me out. I have a few fillings, and they were all done without novacaine -- which I think bugged the dentists involved because they weren't used to having to be that careful.

I don't expect to need more than a cleaning and general look around, but I'm just as happy to go to someone with an implied claim of being gentle. :-)
