My track record amply demonstrates that I only go to doctors if something is really wrong, or if they're pretty darn convenient. As a result, I need a new dentist now that I work on the South Side instead of Shadyside.

There's a dentist next to the Giant Eagle where I sometimes pick up lunch (mmm, salad bar), so today I walked in and asked if they take my dental plan. They do, so I picked up a card and put it in my pocket.

When I got back to the office I noticed that after the usual info they had a line in fairly large print that says "We cater to cowards".

I think these guys are going to be my kind of dentists. :-)

I would love their name. I'm not a coward, but I don't like dental work one bit.

That's fantastic!
And it reminds me that I still need to find a dentist up here....

my dentists have almost the same tagline, though I can't quite remember it now :)

I had bad experiences with dentists as a child. these people almost make me not *mind* going. :)

Dentists for cowards

Dad always used to say, "Nobody ever died in the dentist's chair." I never understood the "fear factor" in going to the dentist because you never had to worry about anything dangerous happening to you, although I did insist Dad show me the safeguards before he used the gas on me (Dad was a dentist).

However, if you see a drawer labeled "Chisels and Hatchets" with a second label underneath it that says, "Stop looking -- Relax," worry. :-)
