Apr. 8th, 2002 10:30 pmConversation snippet from dinner after choir practice:
Steve: What are the kosher requirements for fish?
Me: Fins and scales.
Hilda: Does that mean Aquaman is kosher?
The conversation forked at that point, with me asserting that Aquaman is a mammal (and thus the rules are different) and Dani asserting that those aren't scales.

Date: 2002-04-09 11:07 am (UTC)I'm not sure if Aquaman has real scales or not. However, in my opinion, the fact that he's a mammal has nothing to do with the matter. Dolphins are not kosher only because they don't have scales. (Now, you might be able to argue that Aquaman isn't kosher because, like an amphibian, he lives both in and out of the water...)
Sounds like a fun conversation...
