I seem to have caught a viral infestation that has disrupted traffic on two key ports.

In other words, I have the stomach flu. Either that or food poisoning (I gather the symptoms are remarkably similar), but if it's the latter then I have to figure out how fresh strawberries (the proximate cause) could do that. On the other hand, where could I have caught a stomach flu this time of year?

I called in sick to work, which I almost never do. But I think maintaining a clear, short path to restrooms is in order today, and best not to infect anyone else. Besides, I'm really tired even though I went to bed early last night, so I guess I'll go back to sleep.

Hope you feel better soon. Sorry we didn't meet up last weekend. Things got crazy because we had to coordinate with Brendan to get him home, and breakfast turned into a quickie bite before we got on the road.

I had the stomach flu last year over Memorial Day, also a weird time to get it and no one I knew had it. I had to go to the hospital with it; I hope you get better soon.

Question: Did yours start out with a killer headache, then change to sudden projectile vomiting?

If so, then I'm just getting over the same thing.

Sorry I missed you Sunday! I realized, too late, that I had no idea where you were staying, or I would have called.

I had a mild headache earlier in the day yesterday, but I attributed it to eyestrain (that's usually what that kind of headache means) and took an Advil, and it went away.

The vomiting did set in fairly suddenly, though. I had been feeling a little light-headed for 5 or 10 minutes, and then things went downhill. In the couple hours before that happened, the only thing I'd eaten was a few fresh strawberries. (I'd had lunch several hours earlier.) I tried to eat some dinner an hour or so later but couldn't keep it down, and, um, that's when other output problems developed.

I was able to keep a little food down this afternoon (an apple and, later, some rice) and I ate a small dinner tonight without incident, so I think it's on its way out. But *now* I have a headache....
