driving in Pittsburgh

I guess I'm not a real Pittsburgher after all. Last week one of my turn-signal bulbs burned out, and it was bugging me so much that I stopped to get it replaced on the way to work today.

For some people, the bulbs die from neglect. Mine actually died from use...

My impression of Pittsburgh after a visit was that there are only two types of signs: "turn RIGHT NOW" and "Yes, you just missed it." You never have time to use a signal!

Haven't you heard? You're just supposed to know, which allows you to signal. These roads weren't designed for outsiders who actually need signs... :-)

(Actually, signage got a lot better several years ago when we had the first really-contested mayoral election in a long time. (That's as opposed to nominally-contested, like when a Republican runs for office in this county just for giggles.))

Did replacing the bulb help the fast-blink problem?

Yup. Just as you predicted, replacing the bulb restored the customary blink rate on the signal. Thanks.

I'm pleased to hear it. I don't feel very clueful about auto mechanics, so I feel a sense of 'scoring points' when I'm able to diagnose things correctly.
