My birthday is later this month, and I get to watch the digits turn over. Ooh, nice round number... sounds like an excuse for a party. :-)

The birthday itself is on a weeknight, with the bounding weekends being a large local SCA event (Coronation) and Rosh Hashana (major holiday), so I've given up on any notion of proximity to the actual date. I won't hold the party on Shabbat (among things, I want to be able to serve hot food), which means the longer I wait the more feasible Saturday nights are. (Certainly come the time change all such issues vanish.) I'm not averse to Sunday afternoons, but I get the impression that some of my friends find this suboptimal.

So, a poll. (Please use comments to express actual preferences.)

October 25 and November 1 aren't completely out, but those evenings are starting to get constrained so I may have to duck out early or arrive late.

I like the way you've phrased your question to assess what you actually care about.

Any of those dates work for us, AFAIK. We are out of town the weekend of October 17, but that isn't a date you mention, so I'm guessing it's a non-issue.

If you'd like a Gentile servant (for free!) to do anything during the day on Saturday, just let me know :-)

If you'd like a birthday cake, let me know :-)

What 500-mile problem? You're having your party at my house, right?

Well, October 25th is out, since I have other plans. Novermber 8th I could do in the evening. Everything else is fine. I can do any Sunday afternoon, though after October 26th (and until November 24)... I won't partake of anything until after sunset.

I seem to remember that you and Steve share the same birthday - he too is turning a nice round number. What a strange coincidence eh?!

Have a great birthday festival!

October 4th is Harvest Raid in Heronter, I'm committed up to my eyeballs for the entire weekend. Of course I can say "No (problem)" without trouble! :) Sunday afternoons aren't practical because Cigfran and I have to be back at work Monday mornings. :( The other dates are okay, but I'll have to ask a Debatable Lander (BiMDLer? Debater? You people need a noun! :) for crash space that Saturday night.
