I'm on my third cable company without moving; Comcast bought out AT&T's cable business in my area a few months ago. When the switch first happened I paid attention to bills and channel lineups in case there were changes, but there weren't.

Tonight I figured out why I got something else on the Enterprise tape last night. Sometime between last week and last night, they quietly switched two channels.

Now in the case of Enterprise, no harm done. It's a so-so show and there's a weekend rerun. But still, you'd think they maybe could have said something before changing channels. I actually do read the random junk they print at the bottom of the bill, and there was nothing.

I guess when you're a monopoly you don't have to be reasonable. I'm glad we don't have DSL monopolies here any more.

Just one of life's tiny irritants...

But on the positive side, maybe the signal on that channel will get better now. It's always been kind of spotty; if I'm lucky the problem will turn out to have been "channel 19" rather than "UPN affiliate". I can hope.

We ditched AT&T as soon as we got a good deal from DirecTV. We do loose the satellite in really bad storms, but that's when we pop in a DVD or play PlayStation instead... or I knit and Wolfie goes to draw. Other than that, it's been wonderful. We ditched AT&T because they raised our rates and took away Showtime, which was supposed to be on our plan. More money for less programming... mmmm... nope, don't think so.
