Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving with my family was good. My nephew was well-behaved (surprise!). Everyone is doing well, and the meal was pleasant. My mother's stuffing rocks!

Note to self: Kim might like a Wacom tablet to hook up to her Windows box. Find out what that means and if that's a unique descriptor.

In a few minutes I'll be leaving for the con. I'm looking forward to music and friends.

A stylus on a special surface. More accurate and more "natural" for drawing. Anywhere from $50 (saw a small one at Sam's Club the other day) on up to several hundred or more for a tablet the size of a drafting table.

I'm gifting at least two of the smaller ones this year.

Thanks for the info! Since she's going to be using it with a laptop, I think I can safely limit the options to those that would fit in the case. If she wants a drafting table, she can get a job and save up for it. :-) (She's a college freshman.)

Actually, at $50 or so for a small one, I may investigate this for myself. I haven't tried to do much of anything with digital art primarily because I cannot make a mouse do what I can easily do with a pencil (and scanning in a pencilled original to tweak just doesn't seem to work). Hmm...

She likes a challenge. Took up taxidermy during the pet-rock phase, for preserving lost loved ones. :-)
