I feel so culturally uneducated. For several weeks now I've been getting and deleting spam about "Paris Hilton", and I just saw enough of one message to realize that it isn't about vacation packages in France. Not that this changes my handling of the spam in any way, but... what kind of a first name is "Paris", anyway?

My reactionary knee jerk was "Stupid pretentious bastard snob name."

Evidently my rational defenses of capitalism have not yet purged all my loathing for The Man. :)

sounds like a fun way to spend a night if you can get past all the competition to get in, but too expensive to make a regular thing. Am I close? :-)

::giggle:: I'm not the only one then. Didn't think it was about vacations but assumed it was something unsavoury in a specific location!

Thank you for voicing the exact thought that went through my mind the first time I heard the name Paris Hilton. I seriously thought the scandal about the sex tapes was a scandal because it went on at a famous hotel in France!

I'm right there with you. I have gotten the spam but only seen the subject line. I thought it was about a hotel in France. I did wonder why all of a sudden I was seeing so many messages about it.
