VW called. My car needs a new fuel pump, which will be in on Tuesday.

I wonder what other things can fail as a result of a bad fuel pump and what other symptoms I should look out for.

It's a pretty isolated system and with no fuel pumped not much else happens. So I think you should be ok if they replace it with the proper kind.

Glad to hear that it's not going to case you halacha issues. I cannot believe that that guy had not heard of sabbath.
