That image game, stolen (most recently) from [livejournal.com profile] amergina:

1. Think of a word you would use to describe me.
2. Go to Google Image Search and search for that word.
3. Select the picture you see as most fitting, and post it as a reply.
4. Post this meme in your journal (if you want).

(I searched on "Pennsic house" and was amused to find yours there pretty early).

No that's not you in the picture, the whole gestalt of the scene just reminded me of you...

It was "smart" -- I got a ZILLION car pictures before I found this one.

Have you considered using one of the clients? I've switched over to semagic for putting in updates; I only use the web interface for comments.

Although semagic is a different interface, here's what I like about it:
  1. I can save drafts of post, and thus develop them over time.
  2. The length limitation that is present in the web interface of some 4000 characters doesn't appear to be in semagic submissions.
  3. It is much easier to insert links, lj-cuts, and references to people. It is also easier to do some bolding, etc.

What I don't like:

  1. You need to remember to turn of proxying; I find it works better that way.
  2. Sometimes it hangs on submissions. If so, what works best is to save your draft, exit, and restart.
  3. There is no easy way to insert special characters (as I can in HoTMetaL Pro). But the web doesn't make that easy either.

Just to add another voice: I've been using Semagic pretty much since I started on LJ, and use it whenever possible. Not as powerful as I might wish, but having quick key combinations to do things like insert user tags and formatting is a great boon, IMO. (And while I don't use drafts often, they're a nice feature when I'm writing something complex.)

OK, I need to admit it. I didn't find the image from a Google search. Rather, this image just popped into my head as the right image.

ImageThis is a picture of Rabbi Sheryl Nosan-Blank (http://www.orrishon.org/about_tor.htm#biography), now at Or Rishon (http://www.orrishon.org/) in Orangevale California, but formerly of Temple Beth Torah (http://www.bethtorah-sfv.org/) in Granada Hills California. Thinking of Monica makes me think of Sheryl, and not just because both are young and beautiful. Rather, it is because of their shared spirituality and love of Judaism. It infuses their lives and their living. It fills them so much they must share it with the world, and so teach, sometimes in creative ways. They are accepting of others. They exhibit a joy about living and life. They are both vital, committed, Reform Jewish women. They are the future of Judaism.

(About the only difference is that Sheryl is pregnant).

P.S. Happy Birthday.

How could I try to find something more appropriate than that?
