How to pass for Canadian (link from [livejournal.com profile] mabfan).

What you risk by legalizing gay marriage (link from [livejournal.com profile] nancylebov).

Feed the phishers (link from [livejournal.com profile] brokengoose). This article suggests that a way to increase the cost of phishing scams is for everyone to respond, giving bogus data. Sure, when the phishers send out a million pieces of email they'll get a hundred suckers, but which hundred amidst all the other responses?

Conflict resolution, a good commentary on Parsha Korach (by [livejournal.com profile] aspaqlaria).

On feeding phishers

Phish-feeders have to be careful not to get bitten. Spam displaying a URL may be trying to get people to access it so that the site can exploit a security flaw and download malware onto their computer. Always disable JavaScript, ActiveX, and automatic downloading and opening before visiting such a site. Alternatively, use a "dumb" browser such as Lynx for such sites. If you aren't sure you know what you're doing, don't open a suspicious URL in a browser.

I don't know why that warning comment came out anonymous; I was the one who posted it.
