I'm home from Pennsic. I'm surprised by how many people were packing up today; I expected to be a fluke, not part of a wave. Ansteorra was deserted at noon, which may make sense as they have to drive back to Texas, but other -- nearer -- groups were also significantly depleted, and for a while I thought I wouldn't be able to park on our street to load the car. (That traffic jam cleared out, though.) Weird.

More after Shabbat. (And, once again, you should assume I won't see most of the last 10 days' worth of LJ; let me know if there's something in particular I should see.)

It's been a pretty eventful week for me and the kidlet; I think you might enjoy skimming my updates from Fair. And I posted a picture of a foal in one of the pics posts, in response to your question about the difference between a foal and a miniature horse or pony.

Welcome home!

Silly stuff!

I won't say I'm a dinosaur. But I remember when the last Friday was the day when the most people ARRIVED! Pennsic was a weekend event, you got there after work on Friday, fought in the big battles Sat and Sun and then drove home before court announced the winner because you had a long drive ahead of you.

I remember how lucky I was the first Pennsic I went to (8, which was my first event, too) because my driver was able to leave at 8 am. We got to Pennsic before 4 PM....

"Having Pennsic for your first SCA event is like losing your virginity to a Clydesdale!"

It was my wife's first event too.

Hmm. Never heard it put quite that way -- it was certainly like being dropped in a water tower from an airplane, tho!

*Raised eyebrow* -- when *did* you first do Pennsic? It was already essentially a week long by the time I first got there. (Pennsic 13.)

I went to Florida for a family reunion. Important newsflash: http://www.livejournal.com/users/estherchaya/247329.html?view=2543649#t2543649

Other than that, nothing exciting.
