I'd like to thank [livejournal.com profile] cahwyguy for creating the perfect userpic for posts about my car.

Early data suggests that Day VW in Murrysville (their address says Monroeville but I don't believe them; I've been there) is much better to deal with than Rohrich (spawn of satan). They actually have evening appointments! Ok, the latest appointment is 6:30 and they're on the other side of rush hour, but at least it's possible to get service without losing half a day from work.

Hm. We always went to Rohrich (on West Liberty, right?) for the Toyota and didn't have a problem with them.

No, I remember your stories. Just surprised to find out it was them. Go figure!

I know it's a bit more of a drive for you but the Three Rivers VW dealership is well known for their good service. It's why I bought my car from them. (That and they're 3 minutes from my house in Canonsburg.)

I don't know -- I've dealt with Day once, when we were buying the Cavalier and didn't think much of my experience with them. We had gone through a service online that provided dealers in the area that had arranged no-bargaining agreements. I called Day to confirm and they were part of it.

Lo and behold, when I went in, they tried to bargain (with Julia not me, even though the car was going in my name). When I confronted them about it, they told me I needed to make an appointment with them for their specialist on that program to work with me (they didn't mention this on the phone and I mentioned it when I walked in).

So, good luck,

S

I took my car to Day VW when I lived in Pgh. I found their service department to be acceptable, although I never had anything but routine scheduled maintenance. As far as I know they did all that competently. I speculate, though, that they are not great about going "above and beyond"-- the issue I had last year with degraded rear brakes likely was visible when I was still taking the car to them but they never caught it. Can't really prove that though.

Love the user pic.
Sorry your car issues are still not being addressed. Hope the new place treats you better.
