Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur starts tonight. To all who observe, tzom kal (an easy fast) and g'mar chatima tova (may the final seal be for good).

Interesting essay on reward and punishment and other issues: The Gift of Justice by Rabbi Micha Berger ([livejournal.com profile] aspaqlaria).

Micha has an RSS?

I knew he had a blog, of course, but somehow I never thought - *cool*.

*Wonders who else in the Jewish blogosphere she can add...*

Well, I do the Liberal Judaism Mailing List (www.mljewish.org) and the SCJ FAQ (www.scjfaq.org). I don't know if that counts.

Yes. He became one a couple of years ago. He was being treated (successfully, bli ayin ha-ra) for lymphoma and couldn't work, so he took an intense course with a local rabbi to get smicha. He did it solely to enhance Aish Das.

G'mar chatimah tova, and tzom kal.

It's with a koof (heck, transliteration is a pain; the one with the descender, not the backwards C relative).

This kind of sounds like the punchline to a joke about marine mammals. Not sure what it would be like, though.

Thanks

Here I was, checking Google, and this page turned up...

I'm flattered. Thanks everyone.
