I am profoundly disappointed, but not at all surprised, to find that this caffeine inhaler is not real. (Link from [livejournal.com profile] rani23.)

If you can take pills without water or if you have medications you already need to take with water and cannot skip - caffeine pills.

They help.

Would you like me to walk over to the School of Pharmacy tomorrow and ask if Dr. Dalby can make you one? I doubt he could get 150mg of caffeine into each puff, but I doubt he'd need to...

Alright...I dropped him an email (no saying whether it's spring break or not, so I might as well let email handle it) to point him to the link. I asked him the feasibility, but didn't ask him the price. He's a prototype maker, not a production-line specialist.

Hello Seth,

Believe it or not I made caffeine inhalers years ago as a graduate student - tasted terrible, and not nearly so popular as my bourbon and 7 up inhalers! The latter were popular on ski trips since the tasted great, had the desired effect, and were never confiscated by puritan Ski Patrol members! I had a who range available, and best of all, they functioned well as lock deicers - I once had the Dean of the KY SOP come to the lab and ask for one - he claimed for the latter purpose.

With and MDI you're pushing it at 5mg. A DPI might get you to 40mg in one puff.

Take care,

Richard

Eh, I'm not surprised about the taste. After all, caffeine citrate is pretty bitter. You can also put it in skin cream. mmm...hydrating caffeine!

I'll bet he was a fun student. I doubt he's a man who would turn down a pint.
