[personal profile] cellio
Dani: Which came first, Coke Zero or Pepsi One?

Monica: Pepsi One, as far as I know.

Dani: So Coke Zero is an attempt at one-downsmanship?

(After a slow tanker truck wildly swerved in front of us on the eastbound parkway entrance in Squirrel Hill:)

Monica: Everyone was a beginning driver sometime, but I expect that from U-Hauls, not from commercial trucks.

Dani: And to add insult to injury, he's probably carrying something that's not allowed in the tunnel, too.

Monica: Yeah, that doesn't look like a milk truck. Hmm, explosive milk? Eww.

Name Withheld to Protect the Guilty: (runs just-turned-red light)

Monica: That's rather pushing the definition of "orange".

NWtPtG: You're supposed to go through if there's no time to stop.

First Coworker (overheard): I've never been at a company before that has this many media references in casual conversation. [...] What's the Twilight Zone episode with Burges Meredith and the glasses?

Second Coworker: I don't know.

Monica (walking over): "Time Enough at Last".

First Coworker: ...thus proving my point.

Third Coworker (walking over): "It's not fair! There was finally time, time enough at last!" (in a pretty good immitation of the character)

First Coworker: !!!

(Monica surpresses discourse on a comparison with "A Kind of Stopwatch".)
