Thanks very much! The Sapirstein looks like just what I need; it has original Rashi, full translation, and annotations. It looks like the new volume sacrifices some of that to bring other commentaries and make room for the interlinear translation; I have other sources of commentary and translation, so that's less critical to me.

I wonder what would happen if I offered this as an option to my parents when they start asking about Christmas presents. :-) (Yeah, the concessions we make for the sake of shalom bayit. If agreeing to an annual exchange of presents keeps them from feeling alienated, so be it.)

There's also the Metsudah linear Rashi on the 5 books. The edition that I have (for 4/5 volumes) is no longer in print.

I think there's a translation of Rashi on-line, as well -- or at least there was at one point. After all, he's out of copyright :-)
