On the way home tonight from an SCA event, in the rain:

Dani: I'm really disappointed that we got a non-balmy day in January.
Me: I'm sure it's balmy somewhere. (Pause.) I'm sure it's day somewhere.
Dani: The operative word was "get".
Me: You have to go pick it up; they don't deliver.

(Apparently my theory that I had dodged some winter weather while in Israel was mistaken; it was warm here the entire time I was gone.)

I completely forgot to mention to you that my son is in Israel now. He arrived there on December 26th, and is flying home on January 15th. The day he arrived, there was an impressive snowfall in Jerusalem. :-)

We were in Jerusalem twice; the snow came in with us on our return. :-) (Well, it was rain on the road down from the north...) It didn't look like a significant amount to me (being from Pittsburgh), but it was enough to cripple the city for one night.
