A week ago, we had about 50 reservations for the Purim event. 24 hours ago, we had 80 (about what I figured we'd top out at). Half an hour ago, we had 100 and pending inquiries. That's a lot more people than I thought would want to come to our event!

Most of the attendees probably aren't Jewish, but folks like a good party. :-) The local commedia del'arte (improv theatre) group is doing a play; I saw an early draft and it's hilarious! Even though to the best of my knowledge there are no Jews in the group, they got the mood and flavor of a purimspiel exactly right. Nifty!

Off the top of my head I can count about a dozen Jews (mostly not religious) in the local barony. I haven't seen the attendance list for the event, and I don't know if anyone's travelling in from out of town.
