a small note on feast logistics

Several people commented on this to me yesterday, which makes me think it's unusual:

When I ran my first kitchen I was surprised to walk in to find Johan alphabetizing my ingredients along a counter. I had thought to group like items together; he said this would be better. And it was. So I did that, and it did make things run more smoothly. I also laughed when I heard exchanges like:

Where's the honey?
Under 'h'.
What the... ok, that make sense.

I try to pack duplicates when I need duplicates.
I also try not to have any one ingredient in more than one recipe, though.

Alpha does make sense, but I dont think things would get put back properly in my kitchen =/

I had more duplication than you, but also enough dishes that even though I used something in more than one, there was still plenty of variety. (It would be hard to avoid duplicating some things, like onions.)
