There are signs, for a few miles of highway, for "[My street] detour". Must be some other part of the street; I haven't seen problems. I haven't been curious enough to follow the signs, but I think there are much more direct routes than what they're doing. Hmm: "detour" sounds kind of similar to "deter", as in "you didn't really want to go there, did you?".

Seen on a truck: a sign for Loafer's bread. Cute.

Seen in Regent Square, a shop called "legume". ??? Pretentious food? Pants? Does it amount to a hill of beans?

Personally, I get the impression that 6A/LJ are in way over their heads: they manage the site like it's a small hobbyist site.

In most towns and cities, detours must take arterial routes as much as possible (just as state routes must detour onto other state routes), rather than double traffic on nearby residential streets. This means that detours are longer than truly necessary, and locals nearly always know a shorter way around the problem area.

Legume appears to be a nice restaurant featuring organic and locally grown foods. They were closed when we passed by today, having just had a non-organic but sinfully tasty dinner at D's six pax and dogs (all spelling sic).

I am able to post regularly. I am a freeloading member currently, and it seems especially poor that they aren't taking care of their paid users. I hope they fix it soon.
