cellioTomorrow night begins Rosh Hashana. Happy new year, and may 5768 bring joy and happiness to everyone reading this.
I'm participating in services both Thursday and Friday mornings, doing the haftarah blessings the first day and reading torah the second. Our second-day service (new last year) is small and intimate, a nice contrast to the grandness of the previous day. I appreciate having both: the majesty of the divine king (and the birthday of the world), and the nearness of the still small voice that's there if we listen.

Kenneth and Robert are rolling their eyes at the idea (though they will behave, they've been to church services with my in-laws and know the drill, plus I expect this will be more interesting), but I'm looking forward to it. I haven't been since I was in high school.
