[Pittsburgh] food discovery

Lately the Jewish Chronicle has had ads from Giant Eagle pitching their kosher deli (in the store at Center and Negley in Shadyside). Last week they advertised a special on rotisserie chickens. Drool. It's been years since I've had that, because Kosher Mart doesn't do them in their prepared-foods section. So tonight after work I headed over to check them out. The chicken was very tasty and tender, and I picked up some side dishes for later use. I'll definitely be back.

Small-world moment: the friendly and helpful person who took care of me is happyingreen's husband. :-)

It was funny -- there I was buying my food, and at the end of the transaction he introduced himself (first name only), and I mentally put two and two together and asked if his wife was a blogger, and he said your first name, so I figured it had to be you guys. :-) (He asked for a card; sorry the only one I had was my employer-issued one. I should get personal cards made...)

I'm glad to have a second source of prepared foods in town. There have been times when the other place has not served my needs well. And besides... rotisserie chickens! :-)
