We visited with my parents (and sister) this afternoon. Ironically, my father is also contemplating digitization of his music collection.

Does anyone know where I can get some of those microfiber cloths that sometimes come with glasses and things with delicate screens? Or, failing that, a reliable way to wash them so that they (1) get clean and soft and (2) don't die in the wash?

Microfiber cloths: the cheapest you'll find is in the auto section of KMart or Target. They're the same microfiber cloths, but cheaper because they're not being marketed for monitor cleaning.

Option 1: your nearest sunglasses store or mall-style one-hour-glasses store. Target, Walmart, etc. usually have them, too, but good luck finding them.

Option 2: If you have any sort of health care enrollment period at work, glasses cleaners have become common vendor swag from health care companies. I have Aetna, VSP, and Met Life eyeglass cleaners in my desk drawer that I picked up at my office "health fair" last week.

For cleaning, I wonder whether you might be able to just slosh it around in dishwater, rinse, and air dry. I'll confess that (much to the consternation of my optometrist) I'm more likely to use my shirt than a dedicated cleaning cloth, so I've never actually managed to get one very dirty before losing it.
