vet visit
Erik:
7lbs 1.5oz (down some from last time but in his usual too-skinny range)
temp 103.7 (I called fever before they measured, based on feel)
pulse 200
blood pressure 147/111 (the meds are working)
white blood count 26,800 (sigh, but pretty normal for him)
bilirubin 0.8
T4 0.2 (backing the meds down just a tad)
BUN 25 (normal)
SALT 280 (!) - was 957 in November
AK phos. 189 - was 621 in November
These last are liver numbers (high is bad). We haven't changed the relevant meds; the only change in this timeframe has been to start treating high blood pressure. Weird! But good news.
Erik was acting weird at the vet on Monday, standing in the middle of the room and just staring and stuff like that. Since then he's been sleeping a lot, not interested in food, but drinking, getting subcu fluids, and using the litter box normally. The vet wondered if the low T4 means we've pushed him to hypothyroid, but the fever could explain this too, she says. He started his periodic course of antibiotics on Monday night and the fever seems down today. Tonight vet suggested offering him A/D (I have a few cans left over from his last bout of under-the-weather-ness).
Baldur:
10lbs 11oz (down a couple ounces, which is noise)
resisted exam enough that we didn't take a temperature, but felt normal (he was just there for blood, anyway)
T4 2.6 (meds are fine for now)
BUN 40 (smidge high)
kriatinine 1.9 (normal) - treating hyperthyroid doesn't seem to be doing harm elsewhere
calcium 9.6 (normal) - was high in past so this was a recheck
Ask vet for a sample of K/D canned food for Baldur; will he eat it?
Embla:
8lbs 13oz (peak was 11lbs a year after Radiocat, then dropped; this is about same as last time so ok)
temp 101.4
pulse 180

Re: yeh, I'm a month behind...
Baldur has never (to my knowledge) actually bitten anyone, but he gets awfully cranky at the vet's office.
