LJ failures

OK, why is it that Firefox is giving me 502 (bad gateway) from LJ and asserting that it's them, not me, but I can access the site from Safari running on the same machine? I don't particularly want to use Safari; all my usability improvements are already set up in Firefox.

(I guess I should mention that I'm also on Dreamwidth with this user name, but I haven't been posting there so far.)

I'm using Firefox now, though the site was unavailable earlier. Odd that there's a difference based on browsers.

This could all just be a side effect of the DDOS. One browser might be caching a path, or it could just be coincidence.

I noticed the same. Opera seems tolerably happy with LJ, but FF must do pre-caching or something because it constantly hangs.

I agree with the majority opinion: try dumping the cache.

This happened again last night (well, it was 503 rather than 502) so I tried dumping the cache and then session state, but that didn't help with Firefox. Safari was fine. Weird!

Oh well, at least this means I have a browser that can sometimes read LJ when Firefox can't, but I do wish I could figure out how to get Firefox to just work.

Huh! I was getting the 502 on Camino, but I don't know if Safari would get in at those times.
