Let's see, there was the day-trip to Pax (~7 hours away) and the time we drove back from CT Saturday night after an event because sleeping there was going to be too uncomfortable. While a little off-topic, there was also the time I was going to be flying to the West Kingdom anyway and there would be an event, so I brought my crossbow on the plane (they declared it a "firearm").

THE MUNDANE OF THE SCA
- Run out of closet space because of garb/gear? No, just found more creative ways to store it :-)
- Ever crammed more than 4 people into a hotel room? Yes
- Met your future spouse at an SCA event? It was a dance practice, not an event.
- Met most past significant others in an SCA setting? No, but dragged 'em in.
- Have better research books than your public library? In some topics.
- Is your tent bigger than your first apartment? No
- How many sewing machines do you have? 0
- Own an anvil? No
- Added something to the YKITSCA-When lists? Um, I can't remember.

I am slightly surprised that you don't know how to knit. But I thought modern knitting didn't really exist until the 16th century, when the purl stitch was developed. Nalbinding and sproing would be more period techniques, no?

SCA period is specified as "pre-17th-century", so 16th-century knitting is actually fine. (Also, some fudging of the boundary occurs.) But yes, nalbinding and sprong are also done.

I never caught the knitting bug. My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was a child, but she didn't knit so I didn't get exposed that way. As an adult I just never sought it out. Though having a portable craft that you can do while talking/listening is sometimes handy (and it's sure never going to be embroidery :-) ), so maybe someday I'll learn.
