daf bit: B'rachot 64
R. Abin ha-Levi said: when a man takes leave of his fellow he should not say
to him "go in peace" but rather "go to peace". Yitro said to Moshe "go to
peace" and Moshe went up and prospered, while David said to Abshalom
"go in peace" and Abshalom was killed. R. Abin further says that one
who takes leave of the dead (when leaving the funeral procession) should
say "go in peace", as it says: you shall go to your fathers in peace
(Psalm 84:8).
I hadn't known before that you were supposed to say anything to the dead, actually. I wonder if this is custom today.
This is the last daf of this tractate. Next week, on to Shabbat.
