Here are some more pictures of the visiting Stack Exchange unicorn. In this batch she picks up a little local memento, visits an SCA event, and finally (finally!) sees signs of spring in the 'burgh.

At the beginning of her visit some of you suggested that a Heinz pickle pin would be the perfect memento of Pittsburgh. Great idea! I used the "contact us" form on Heinz's web site to ask how I could get one of these spiffy pins. Meanwhile, I learned that I could get these at the History Center but life got busy. A coworker offered to give me one of his (thanks Bob and Pamela!). Meanwhile, a package arrived yesterday from Heinz with a new pickle pin, so I can give that to Bob and repay the loan.

This weekend was a local SCA event, A Kingdom for a Stage, which -- as the name suggests -- focused on performances. [livejournal.com profile] dagonell came down with his first try at a Bunraku puppet, which is a full-size Japanese puppet normally operated by three or four people. He adapted it to be a one-person puppet. Mr. Bunraku told us he was at his first event; "me too", said the Ladycorn.

The Ladycorn hung out with Ishiyama for a bit. I think she was trying to convince him to join the Japanese Stack Exchange site.

This banner caught the Ladycorn's interest:

Finally, as her visit to Pittsburgh wrapped up -- a visit that began with snow only a week ago (and intermittently since then) -- we were favored with spring's advance guard:

And would either of you ladies know anything about the lady's favor that Mr. Bunraku acquired when I wasn't looking??? :)
