Dec. 26th, 2001 11:35 amRalph and Lori invited us for dinner last night. It was lovely. It was possibly the most moist turkey I've ever had; Ralph shared his secret (do the first half of the cooking with the bird upside down, then flip). We didn't know who else would be there; it turned out that we were the only friends (as opposed to family), but we'd met most of them before so that worked out fine.
The cats were entertaining, though they were getting tired by all the laser-pointer-chasing by the end of the evening. Ralph and Lori now have a new technique to wear them down before bed-time. :-)
Ralph and Lori gave me an Austin Lounge Lizards CD (yay! fun stuff!) and Dani a Neil Gaiman book/graphic novel (illustrated book, really). We gave them some kitchen toys -- assorted curries and other spice mixtures. I forgot that they do less "a little of this, some of that" cooking than I do, so I want to find them some actual masala recipes to go with that jar.
