cellio: (talmud)
As part of offering a meal-offering the priest would scoop some of it with his hand onto the altar. (There are long discussions, not on this daf, about how much he must scoop, BTW.) The mishna on today's daf talks about the case where the handful of one meal-offering becomes mixed with that of another. In most cases the offerings both remain valid according to the mishna; R. Yehudah calls out two cases where they are not, arguing that the textures are different in those cases. In other words, it appears that if you can't tell the difference by inspection all remains valid, but if you can tell the difference, the mixing invalidates. (22a)
