Black Friday shows up for me as a US holiday (with the color code), but not Thanksgiving the day before. Labor Day, Columbus Day, and (if Google counts it as a holiday) election day did not show up. Independence day was the last US holiday I got (before black Friday).

The last Jewish holiday that showed up for me is Erev Tisha b'Av in July. I don't know if Google codes Tisha b'Av separately; if so I didn't get it. I've found no Jewish holidays later than that.

All of these work fine in the desktop view. The appearance of black Friday is especially mystifying; it tells me that *something* is still being tracked. And, indeed, both calendars are turned on and if I go back in time I see appropriate entries. I've toggled them off and on and synced repeatedly -- no change. I tried to update the app just in case that's the problem, but couldn't figure out how -- it shows on the phone as "Calendar" but there is no "Calendar" or "Google Calendar" in the list of apps or even widgets. I updated "Google" (which I think is just search), but that didn't change anything.

In my searches I found a thread on a Google forum about this and tried to click on the "add comment" (or whatever) link, but even though I'm signed in, clicking it didn't do anything. That's on the desktop, in Chrome, by the way. So I'm at a loss at this point, alas.
