I had several questions outstanding. The answers to those questions would have helped us understand whether a resolution was possible. When I asked the questions I certainly saw a path forward, pending the answers to those questions, and thus didn't think stepping down was called for yet.
Thanks for the support. They've been really awful and do not seem to care about the human cost of their attacks. The SE I once knew, the one that cared at least a little about its communities and the people who build them, is gone.
