it's not a good idea to use your real name for anything at all [on reddit] Which really sucks. I mean, let's take me for example. I've been Goljerp online since the early 90s. It's part of my identity. There are friends who call me "Goljerp" in person. There's a pretty good chance that if you come across a user calling themselves "Goljerp" elsewhere that it's me. So if I were to create a reddit account, I'd probably choose "Goljerp" as the name. And then get doxxed and have randos attacking me on my various online niches. Sigh...
