And Monica, if you ever come to NYC, you're welcome to come to a Goljerp Gaming. With or without your purchases. :-)
Ooh, that reminds me, Z was willing to host one tomorrow, but I was at DevWeekNYC and didn't respond. Hmm...
(Nowadays, the Goljerp Gaming events tend to be on Shabbat, after my shul finishes... so we don't have *all day*, but we do get 4-6 hours of gaming in...)
That's a good idea. We usually have munchies, but since I moved to (mostly) Saturdays, it's been tougher with the "everyone chips in for Pizza" thing we used to do.
We are blessed to be able to provide dinner for a crowd, so we can skip the "everyone chip in and order something" complication. For game days in the winter I'll make something in advance that can be warmed up after Shabbat (roast chicken, chili, etc), or even just *cook* something low-effort after Shabbat (if all I have to do is stick it in the oven and wait). When Shabbat ends too late for that approach (most of the year), we get something from Kosher Mart that works cold (buckets of chicken, sandwich makings, etc).
