The basil plant that came in this CSA box was in a 4" container. It was young and a little delicate.

Here it is today, in an 8" pot:

Well, it's a little shorter now. There was caprese salad. There will be more. :-)

Technically there is a way but it's ludicrously expensive and you totally don't have to. That is a gorgeous basil plant, though.

(A friend once mailed me squash blossoms inside a cardboard box, which lay on ice packs inside a small styrofoam cooler, inside an insulated box. They were gorgeous.)
