We got a new CFO today. When her predecessor (now VP of business dev) introduced us, the new CFO said "oh, I know Monica". Err, umm, ack... I felt embarrassed because while she looked kind of familiar I could just *not* place her (and probably lots of people look kind of familiar who aren't really). But then she went on: "you were at CGI, weren't you?".
Yes, I was. I left in 1988.
Ok, how many of you still clearly remember the people you worked with in 1988 (you young'ns can skip this question), especially those who were *not* your day-to-day coworkers? I mean, it's not like Robin was another engineer I worked with all the time; she was probably one of the accountants or something. I don't remember.
I've always been bad with names and faces, but somehow I don't think this one reflects that badly on me. :-)

I think that there is special dispensation for not knowing stuff like that after nearly 13 years.

But, I might or might not recognize people from that long ago. It would depend on how closely we worked together, phase of the moon and my general level of sleep... :-)

Speaking of faces/names and other oddities...

Lori used to be in the SCA (her name is Marilee). She was the local dance mistress for a couple of years about a decade ago, give or take. (Lori, you'll have to correct me here.) She's not active in the SCA now, and I can't remember whether the two of you overlapped back then.

Hi :-) We probably did know each other at least a little...

You've got it as right as I would've. I was defintely dancemistress in 1991, 1992 and 1993...I really can't remember when I quit -- I think it was summer 1994.
I find it hard to believe that was now a decade ago, but it was. Sheesh. ;-)
1988
Re: 1988
Or maybe I did. Ha!
Now that I think about it, 1988 was also the first year I was a regular caller/poster to BBSes, often convincing people that I was in my early 20's because of my quick typing and precocious command of the english language. Sad, isn't it? I think I'll go throw this on my LJ and stop cluttering this thread.
