In this picture, I simply painted (actually airbrushed) over the background with a nondescript color. But I find the results unsatisfying.

I think the blue is too bright. It's the thing that jumps out. I look at the picture and think "BLUE!" then "Oh, it's Monica!"

better. It also needs to be a tad lighter, I think. But that could be just me. :)

Ok, I tried lightening it (though the blue might now be too light again). I'll have to check this on different monitors, too.
